The Discipline of Thanksgiving

"Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." - 1 Thessalonians 5:18 I came across some interesting statistics recently about how Americans spend our time. An average 70 year old spends his/her lifetime... working - 26 years sleeping - 23 years watching tv - 7 years worrying - 7 years eating - 6 years giving thanks - 88 hours It's easy to worry. In year four, the citizens tried to impeach their town government because they thought it was a waste of public funds to build a road 5 miles west into a wilderness. Isn't it ironic that people (who had the vision to see 3,000 miles across an ocean) could so quickly lose their vision to see 5 miles outside of their town? How about you? Are you living with vision? Do you have a sense of God's greater vision and purpose
