We the people of
Faith United Methodist Church are putting our faith in action by making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world, which is our church’s mission.
During the Christmas season we donated 6 large bags of winter clothing, $725 & 59 gifts to Together We Cope for the Adopt a Child Program & 50 gifts to the Angel Tree for children of incarcerated people. Thank you for helping us bless children/families in our community! On 12/15 - 45 sandwiches were delivered to the teachers & staff at Springfield School. Principal Amanda Brown sent us pictures to show how much they appreciated the lunch.
One of our ministry partners, Operation Blessing, will resume their ministry of offering food to hungry neighbors in the southwestern suburbs. Next date to help pack bags of food for a drive-by food pick up TBA.
If you can volunteer, call 773-225-8229. If you are not felling well, please stay home.
The Missions Committee has many
opportunities for you to help.

Help Break the Chain of Poverty through Education! One of the most important factors for a productive, fulfilling life is education. Help Faith UMC to play a major role in the education of the poverty stricken children in the town of Cuidad Espana, Honduras. Public school conditions in Honduras are often poor & only through 9th grade. Some children don't make it past 6th grade because their parents can't afford it. We are forming a partnership with the Juan Wesley Methodist K-12 School based at Christo Resucitado Methodist Church in Cuidad Espana. Sponsors are needed for children whose families are unable to afford the tuition. You can continue to sponsor a child through university to help with book fees & the 2 hour bus commute to the state funded university. Students are vetted & monitored to assure they qualify for the program & achieve the school's academic goals.

Food for Faith Families (FFF) is looking for more members. We provide meals for families in our congregation that need short term help for any number of reasons, from having surgery to bringing home a new baby. There are many great reasons to join us.
We are a small group that NEVER meets.
You do not need to be a great cook as no one complains when a free meal is involved!
We do not get many requests per year.
You are able to help as your schedule allows.
It's really easy; everything is done via our website: Mealtrain.com. If you don't use a computer, don't fret, we use Calling Post as well.
This is a drop off program. It is not meant to be a visit. It is a food delivery program.
If you are interested in this very vital ministry, please contact Jan Kubillus at (708) 687-0953.
