The Quickly Ticking Clock

The Quickly Ticking Clock 2 Peter 3:8 8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

There is exactly one week until Christmas. ONE WEEK. That is seven days. Seven days to finish shopping, wrap presents, and complete any cooking and baking necessary. Not only are we asking ourselves where the time has gone, but we may also be frantic about having enough time to finish our Christmas preparations.

When I was starting to complain about not having enough time this week, I sat back and reflected on this text. God is timeless. Celebrating God's presence in Christ doesn’t mean getting everything done in time, but instead calls us to focus on how we are preparing. Are we becoming easily frustrated with others as we wait in lines, or do we remain cheerful to our neighbors? Do we complain about needing to cook enough food for all of the extended family, or do we make sure that there is enough for everyone to eat, related or not? Instead of allowing the pressures of time to overwhelm us in the days nearing Christmas, let us instead focus on how we are called to prepare. ~Pastor Caitlyn~
