Dreaming God's Dreams

September 9, 2016

"And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions."

- Joel 2:28

God is the giver of dreams.  Dreams motivate and inspire us.  Dreams help us persevere in the face of overwhelming odds.  When God created us, God equipped us with gifts and talents.  God also gave us the capacity to dream - not only our dreams, but God's dreams for us.

So, what are the dreams God has placed on your heart?

At the end of worship services (these last two weeks,) I've encouraged our church family to write down their dreams. You can see them in our church lobby.  We have dreams (from our past) on the flower cross.  We have dreams (for our future) on the cloud board.

Here are some of the dreams that y'all wrote:

"My dream was that Faith would be a place where kids of all ages want to come and be at so they can be themselves."

"My dream is to make a difference in the life of a child even after retirement."

"My dream is to be a caring person who gives openly and often."

"My dream is for a special needs ministry with children and adults."

"My dream is to give back to God - for all that He has given me."

"My dream is for my children to learn about God and God's greatest gift - Jesus Christ."

"My dream was to have enough people to do all the missions, working with kids, and being on committees serving others."

"My dream is to be challenged to the point of discomfort and have the faith to act on the challenge."

"I was looking for a church in 2015.  Found Faith and a wonderful church family.  Thank you!"

Thank you to everyone who shared your dreams.  If you haven't already, take a look at the flowers and clouds in our church lobby.  If you're inspired, share your dreams with others.

Let's praise God, who is the giver of dreams, as well as the power to turn dreams a reality.
