Friends "Friends are angels that lift us to our feet

when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly." - anonymous

God has blessed us with so much in life. One of God's greatest gifts is a good friend.

A friend picks you up when you're down. A friend stands by your side when the world stands against you. A friend tells you that you have a piece of brocolli stuck between your teeth.

Listen to what the Bible has to say about friendship: "As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend." - Proverbs 27:17

"Two are better than one. If one falls, the other is there. Two can keep warm when the nights are cold." - Ecclesiastes 4:9-11

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." -

John 15:13

Last Sunday, we were reminded of our need for friendships. God created us - not to live as crime-fighting vigilantes - but as members of a community. We need each other. We belong to each other.

So, take a moment to lift up prayers for a friend today. Share a laugh or a hug or a smile. Show kindness and care. The best way to gain a good friend is to be a good friend.
