A Word of Thanks

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." - John 15:13

A few months ago, I was invited to pray at a gathering for Illinois Veterans of the Korean War. I was honored by the invitation. As the child of Korean immigrants, whose parents lived through the Korean War, I was humbled when I stepped into the room and saw the faces of women and men,

whose service directly impacted my life.

Before offering my prayer, I took the opportunity to thank the veterans and their families. My guess was that many of them knew the difference their lives had made. In case they didn't, I reminded them that I am a living testament of their sacrifices. Because of their service, I was able to stand before them and offering a blessing. To all of our veterans and veteran families - thank you. Thank you for your service (past and present). Thank you for the sacrifices you've made that few others can fully understand. May God bless you and your families.

Praise God for days like today that remind us all to remember and give thanks for our Veterans.

- Pastor Caleb
