Peace

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." - Matthew 5:9

In the season of Advent, we are preparing for what it means for Christ to be in our lives. This week, as we focus on peace, remembering that Christ is the Prince of Peace. The Hebrew word for peace is shalom, which means completeness or well being. Often when we think of peace, we imagine world peace. The idea that war will cease and people will begin to care for one another rather than be alienated. This is not the only sense of peace Christ has to offer us. He came not only to bring the world peace, but also to complete us. Give us a sense of wholeness that only Christ can provide. As we continue to prepare for the arrival of Christ, may we do so looking to where we may be apart of bringing peace into the world and reminding ourselves the wholeness that Christ offers when we accept him in our heart.
