Election Day

It's almost time. After months of waiting, election day is almost here. As y'all prepare to vote this Tuesday, let's NOT cast vote (first & foremost) as Republicans or Democrats. First, let's vote as Christians – as people of faith. Let’s have our voice/vote reflect the life & teachings of Jesus Christ, who teaches us to “do unto others what you would have them do unto you.” - Matthew 7:12 Let’s have our voice/vote reflect the teachings of the prophets, like Micah, who teaches us to “act justly, love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God.” - Micah 6:8 Let’s treat one another – even those who vote for other candidates - with civility and love. As the apostle Paul writes “let no evil talk come out of our mouths, but only what is useful for building others up, as there is need, so that your words may give grace to those who hear.” - Ephesians 4:29 Second, let’s vote as Americans – as sisters & brothers. Let's seek the best for our country, not merely for our party. In the end, we're all in the same boat. We're all part of the same team. In the face of the hyper-partisanship & attacks & division, let’s choose to be part of the solution and not the problem. Whether we identify as Red Republicans or Blue Democrats or Otherwise, we are one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty & justice for all. ~ Pastor Caleb
