Pastor Caleb Yong Min Hong
As Lead Pastor, Caleb provides spiritual leadership and oversight of church leaders and the congregation. His job description includes preaching, teaching, caring, counseling, administering the sacraments, and championing the church’s mission and vision.
Caleb has served as a pastor since 1997 in Delaware, Georgia, and several congregations in Northern Illinois. He loves to play sports, eat good food, watch the Cooking Channel, and spend time with his two daughters. He dreams of dunking a basketball in heaven. He is married to Rev. Sarah Hong, who is serving Minooka United Methodist Church.
As Announcement Coordinator, Beth prepares announcements using Power Point that are shown on the TV screens in the lobby and before services in the sanctuary. She also organizes photos and archives them for the church files. One of her most rewarding experiences has been honoring our Veterans with a slide show on Veterans Day.
Some things she enjoys are watching classic movies, cross stitching and spending time with her family.
The thing Beth loves most about FAITH UMC is the friendly people. Faith has many activities for everyone. Her favorites are helping with VBS and Santa’s Jamboree.
As Webmaster, Sandy oversees all the features of the Faithumcop.org website. She solves any technical problems, does the maintenance which includes updating content, fixing broken links, selecting images and approving site content. She also performs as chairperson of the Website Committee.
She is a retired Panduit - Research and Development Specialist who enjoys adventure travel. She has visited over 50 foreign countries. She also enjoys reading, particularly reading about female heroines. Her latest challenge is Tai Chi.
Sandy is an active member of Faith’s Puppet Ministry, Literary Ladies Book Club, Adult Sunday School, Missions Committee, Communication Team and Singles Fellowship. She would be happy to talk with anyone about the rewarding participation in any of these activities.
As Office Manager, Linda oversees the church office and provides administrative support for the congregation. She does the usual office duties, greets visitors, answers phones & distributes mail. But the majority of her time is spent on the weekly worship bulletins & the monthly newsletter, Faith Matters. Linda loves finding the appropriate clipart to enhance the announcements.
Linda enjoys vacationing with her family, especially cruising; reading & she can’t wait until Christmas when she enjoys putting up her Christmas village.
Linda is on the Communications Team, is involved in a small group & is on the Missions Committee. She feels the Missions Committee is involved in so many worthwhile events. She is proud to be a part of that group.
As custodian, Don maintains and keeps the building running and clean and does minor repairs as needed. He also sets up for our numerous events in the fellowship hall.
Don loves spending time enjoying music and baseball with his 3 boys, He is an avid comic book fan and has been collecting them since he was 5 years old.
One of his sons has attended a youth mission trip and plans to attend another one this summer.
Chancel Choir Director
As Chancel Choir Director, Rolf prepares music to be presented at the 9:00 a.m. service. This entails researching music and rehearsing the choir during its season (September through May) to connect with the scripture/sermon each week. He also directs or works with special music programs that are scheduled during the Christmas and Easter seasons. In addition to the choir, he assists in scheduling special music during the summer months.
Rolf is a retired high school choral director. He is a member of MENC and ACDA organizations of the music community, USGA of the golfing community and is
committed steward to his YARD and GARDEN throughout the year.
The openness and friendliness of the church membership as a whole and the choir members specifically has always been the most enjoyable and appreciable aspect of
Audio Visual Director
As AV Director, Diane manages the technicians for worship services and events that utilize audio visual equipment in Faith’s sanctuary, fellowship hall and meeting rooms. She recruits, trains, schedules and oversees employees, as well as the audio video technology used for worship services and occasional events such as conferences, seminars, weddings and funerals. She is also responsible for acquiring new equipment, monitors existing inventory, and oversees day-to-day operations, such as setting up and breaking down audio-visual equipment and building relationships with staff.
Diane is a retired paralegal who enjoys music, painting in various mediums, photography, video recording and editing.
She enjoys being part of Faith’s Small Group Ministries, including Faith Puppets, Drama Team and Worship Design.
As Program Coordinator, Sandy initiates and/or facilitates new programs and assists, as needed, with established programs. She actively seeks out volunteers for all aspects of ministry by working with the pastors. Coordinating building usage, completing insurance and accident reports, overseeing the church calendar and serving as a liaison to several church committees are all part of her job.
She is a retired school principal who enjoys reading, travel, and decorating for the holidays-especially Christmas. She enjoys volunteering as a reader for Learning Ally, a national organization that records books for those needing assistance in reading the printed word.
Being a part of the Small Group Ministry, Disciple 1, and the Singles Fellowship Group are things Sandy especially enjoys at Faith.
Director of Children’s Ministry
As Director of Children’s Ministry, Kim focuses on establishing and implementing new programs, continuing to develop existing programming, coordinating children’s ministry volunteers, and nurturing the children in their faith journey. Some of the new programs offered for children include Artivities, Explore and Soar and Parent’s Night Out. Some existing children’s programs are Vacation Bible School, Santa’s Jamboree and Sunday school. Kim works closely with volunteers to ensure that there are an adequate number of teachers and helpers at each program. Through these programs Kim helps to encourage and nurture each child’s relationship with God, in a safe, comfortable and fun environment.
Kim is a former elementary school teacher who enjoys reading anything and everything from a good mystery to the back of a cereal box. She enjoys spending time goofing around with her husband Tom and two daughters, Gracie and Janie.
Kim’s favorite thing at Faith UMC is the love and generosity of its members. Faith is a congregation filled with compassionate people who are willing to share their time and talents to help one another, those in the community and the world.
Director of Contemporary Worship
As the Director of Contemporary Worship, Beth leads the RISE service on Sunday mornings and the new Third service on Saturdays.
It is her pleasure to be working with the talented singers, instrumentalists, sound and video people, so that the music ministry compliments the efforts of the other teams in providing meaningful worship.
She looks forward to creating new opportunities for the people of Faith to experience the love of Jesus through Praise and Worship.
Outside of serving at Faith, Beth’s priorities are her family, her love of music and her passion for horses.
She is excited to be at Faith.
